Marine Renewable Energy

Many wave and tidal power machines are currently at various stages of development, with several ready to be deployed commercially.  The biggest challenge facing potential developers is how to economically install multiple machines in a hostile environment.

The challenge is formidable and only through the introduction of  innovative technology to radically improve the economics of wave and tidal power can this new industry hope to prosper

CMS is working on designs for foundations which will support multiple machines, simplify installation, reduce risk and improve access to turbines and power cables which will result in much better cost / megawatt ratios.  This can be achieved without resorting to heavy-lift ships or jack-up barges; a major cost and impediment to efficient installation.

This technology is designed to create work for UK companies and offers a step change in the commercial development of wave and tidal power.
